IssueNetwork connectivity is lost after restoring to snapshot or CLONE, or a change in the network of the virtual machine was done to switch a NIC to a different network,
ifconfig -a
no longer displays eth0 or eth1
eth2 and eth3 are seen instead
route -n
only shows the loopback interface lo
CauseThe MAC address of the network interface has changed and reverts the network interface from eth0 and eth1 to eth2 and eth3.
Resolution1. Log in as root
2. Delete the following file:
rm -f /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

3. Reboot the appliance
reboot
