|Issue||RADIUS does not start on Windows 2000 server|
Error: "Source: SDRADIUSD EVENT ID: 1004 RADIUS server error: Failed to load client.dll" in the application log; RADIUS does not start on Windows 2000 server
ACE/Server starts but Radius service does not start. After trying to start it manually, the above error appears in application log.
ACE/Server 5.0 is installed on Windows 2000 server running ACE/Agent 1.1.
ACE/Server 5.0 installs the sdmsg.dll version 5.1 and aceclnt.dll version 5.1 but does not replace these dlls on Windows 2000 if Agent 1.1 is installed. As a result, sdmsg.dll [126.96.36.199] and aceclnt.dll [188.8.131.52] are present in winnt/system32 and radius does not start with this version of dll files. These two files are installed by ACE/Agent 1.1 for Windows 2000.
|Resolution||1. Replace the correct version of sdmsg.dll and aceclnt.dll in WINNT/System32 from another ACE/Server 5.0 installation.|
Please contact RSA Security Technical Support to obtain these dlls if necessary.
2. Verify ACE/Server configuration Management for radius port number. This should match with the radius port number mentioned in WINNT/System32/drivers/etc/services.
3. If Routing and RAS is enabled on Windows 2000 server, assign a different port other than 1645, 1646, 1812, 1813 for RADIUS service. If possible RRAS can be disabled during the testing of RADIUS.
