IssueRSA NetWitness Informer mail delivery settings are incorrect after an upgrade.
Resolution

Sometimes after upgrading to Informer, the SMTP server settings can be incorrect, even though they are correct in the administration web GUI.  You may also receive this error in the Informer Web UI: "Informer: Failure sending mail.: The remote name could not be resolved: 'mail.netwitness.com'".

To check and fix this issue, RDP into the Informer host, and edit the following file:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\NwReporterWeb\web.config or D:\inetpub\wwwroot\NwReporterWeb\web.config

<mailSettings>
      <smtp>
        <network host="smtp.netwitness.com" port="25" userName="" password="" />
      </smtp>
</mailSettings>

The network host within that XML block must be set to your local SMTP relay.
