Resolution

On page 235 of the RSA Authentication Manager 6.1 Administrator's Guide, the section titled "Updating Your License Record in RSA Authentication Manager" lists the procedure to upgrade a license. This procedure can be used for RSA Authentication Manager 6.0 and earlier versions, but should not be used for RSA Authentication Manager 6.1. Instead, follow the procedure below:

- Stop your Primary Authentication Manager server

- Upgrade the license:

  - Run the Start Menu > Programs > RSA Security > RSA Authentication Manager Control Panel

  - Stop the Authentication Manager server ("Start & Stop..." > Stop All)

  - Click "Upgrade License" (last option in the left pane of the window)

  - Point to the file requester to the new license.rec file

- Restart RSA services on the Primary Authentication Manager server  ("Start & Stop..." > Start All)

When the Primary's services restart, it will push the updated license information to any Replica servers you may have.  If you want to verify the Replica(s) have the updated license information, Open Authentication Manager Host Mode on the Replica (you will see a message that Replicas are read-only, this is ok), and select System > check License Compliance.
