Confirmed HTTP processes running
Stopping and restarting KCA does not correct problem
Cannot access Web server from a different system
Restarting nCipher does not give access & causes application hang
Set Web server user as "nobody" and group as "nogroup" during installation
Web server log shows the following ownership error:
[18/Dec/2001 11:22:21 22942] [error] Child could not open SSLMutex lockfile
/opt/source60/RSA_KeonCA/WebServer/logs/ssl_mutex.17034 (System error follows)
[18/Dec/2001 11:22:21 22942] [error] System: Permission denied (errno: 13)
CauseEntries like the following:
"mod_ssl: Child could not open SSLMutex lockfile /opt/apache/logs/ssl_mutex.18332 (System error follows) [...] System: Permission denied (errno: 13)''
are usually caused by overly restrictive permissions on the parent directories.
ResolutionTo correct this problem, ensure that all parent directories (here /opt, /opt/apache and /opt/apache/logs) have at least the x-bit set for the UID under which Apache's children are running. The x-bit may need to be set for all users for those folders.
