Applies ToNIC WinSSHD service is missing from Windows services
RSA enVision 4.x
CauseWhen the NIC WinSSHD service is installed on the enVision appliance, it starts out with a different service name (WinSSHD), sometimes it doesn?t get renamed.

Forgot to re-install the service after an appliance rebuild.
ResolutionCheck on the enVision appliance where the NIC WinSSHD service doesn?t appear.
RDP to the enVision appliance and check the Windows services, is there a WinSSHD service?

1.  If the WinSSHD service exists it can be renamed by making the following registry change,
Start regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinSSHD  hive.
Change the DisplayName  from ?WinSSHD? to ?NIC WinSSHD?.
Reboot the appliance for the service to show up as ?NIC WinSSHD? in the services panel.


2.  If the WinSSHD service doesn?t exists, you can install it by,
Go to c:\windows\installations\BitVise
Execute the c:\windows\installations\BitVise\winsshd_install.bat
The log file created for this install can be found at %_envision%\logs\winsshd_install.log

Start regedit
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WinSSHD hive.
Change the DisplayName  from ?WinSSHD? to  ?NIC WinSSHD?.
Reboot the appliance for the service to show up as ?NIC WinSSHD? in the services panel.
