|Issue||Keon: How to import a PKCS#7 file into Internet Explorer|
When the user double clicks on a PKCS#7 file (.pb7), Internet Explorer imports only one of the Intermediate Certification Authorities. The Root Certificate will not be imported.
|Cause||This problem was seen only on the Windows NT platform. When the user double clicks on a ".p7b" file, Windows treats the PKCS#7 file as a single certificate.|
|Resolution||To correct this issue, manually import the PKCS#7 file into Internet Explorer using the following steps:|
1. Start Internet Explorer
2. From Internet Explorer's top menubar, select "Tools" -> "Internet Options" -> "Content" tab -> Click "Certificates" -> Click "Import" and follow the Wizard Prompts to import the ".p7b" file
NOTE 1: If the import was successful, a dialog box appears reading "Do you want to add the following certificate to the Root Store?"
NOTE 2: This workaround is not necessary on Windows 2000
NOTE 3: The file must have the extension ".p7b" (Cryptographic Message Syntax Standard)
