UNIX (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris)
|Issue||sdload of server database to migrate into a new server|
Error "can't load server context" when trying to sdload -s
|Cause||The dump file may have been created with the wrong license.rec. This may happen when an administrator copies the license.rec from a license upgrade diskette into "path"/ace/prog to run sdsetup -license. This leaves two versions of license.rec. The correct one is in the "path"/ace/data directory.|
|Resolution||Copy the license.rec from "path"/ace/data on the old server and the dump file into a temp directory on the new machine. Type "path"/ace/prog/sdload -s.|
If the error still occurs, rename the license.rec that is in "path"/ace/prog of the old machine, and copy it to a safe place. Verify that the server contains only one license.rec and that it is in the "path"/ace/data directory. Run sddump -s from the ace/data directory on the old server. FTP, in binary mode, the *.dmp file and the license.rec to a temp directory on the new server. From that temp directory, type "path"/ace/prog/sdload -s.
