Issue | WILL_NOT_PERFORM error when attempting to set Password in Active Directory ClearTrust Entitlements Manager (AdminGUI) shows the following error when attempting to set a users password. (RC_TRANSPORT_ERROR): 0000052D: SvcErr: DSID-013A0FC0, problem 5003 (WILL_NOT_PERFORM) |
Cause | This error indicates that the password being set does not meet the underlying complexity rules for passwords set by the Active Directory data store. Active Directory will only allow passwords to be set that meet the constraints of the domain password policy in effect for that user. Note that Active Directory password policies may be set at the user, group, or domain level. |
Resolution | Typically the ClearTrust account management tools are not used when using Active Directory as a data store type. If you wish to use the ClearTrust AdminAPI or Entitlements manager to manage users and passwords you must understand the limitations. Active Directory will always impose its own policies regardless of the ClearTrust password policies. To avoid this error you must ensure that the ClearTrust password policy complexity rules are the same or more complex as those of Active Directory. |
