IssueError message "bad interpreter: No such file or directory" when executing the RSA Security Analytics nicsftpagent.sh script.

When configuring a File Reader collection on the Log Collector using the nicsftpagent.sh script you might get the following error:

-bash: ./nicsftpagent.sh: /bin/bash^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

CauseThis error occurs because the nicsftpagent script was probably modified on a Windows machine using the notepad and some characters have been added which the Linux/UNIX system is not able to recognize.
Resolution

To resolve this issue run the following command from the Linux/UNIX event source:

           dos2unix nicsftpagent.sh

Then run the script again and it should be able to run successfully.

Notesdos2unix is a UNIX utility which converts files from DOS to UNIX format.
