IssueSecurID: Cannot resolve IP address when adding client using Remote Admin
DNS and NIS are not in use
CauseWhen you use Remote Admin and select to add a client, after typing in the machine name the Remote Admin program will attempt to resolve the IP address of the named machine. Given the actions listed above, the IP address box will remain blank, and the administrator will have to enter the address manually.
ResolutionAdding the new machine to the hosts file on the ACE/Server is not enough - the same details need to be added to the hosts files of any machines doing remote administration. We recommend an implementation of DNS. This way, all machines will refer to a single mechanism to resolve IP addresses.
WorkaroundNew machine added to the network and the details are added to the /etc/hosts file on the ACE/Server
