|Applies To||AM 7.1, Authentication Manager 7.1|
|Issue||Try to get AM 7.1 install on Linux successfully|
You see below error in the installation log
(Jan 23, 2009 4:53:08 AM), Install, com.installshield.product.actions.AddUserAction, err, ProductException: (error code = 200; message="Java error"; exception = [ServiceException: (error code = 315; message = "UX: /usr/sbin/useradd: Radius0uj name too long.
UX: /usr/sbin/useradd: ERROR: Inconsistent password files. See pwconv(1M).
"; severity = 0)])
|Cause||It was actually an issue with /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow files not being in sync. The warning about username length was just that, a warning. The real cause is due to the inconsistent password files|
|Resolution||Check the passwod file for any garbage character. If there any, it will cause synchronisation problem and cause problem in adding the radius users|
|Notes||Internal: We would like to give tribute to Ed Lawford of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell of providing the solution|
