Connection rejected, the server license allows connections from only 5 unique IP addresses.

Cause

After installing the WebLogic version provided with the FIM 3.0 software, customers reported that the following error message would appear in the WebLogic logfile:

<Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000211> <Connection rejected, the server license allows connections from only 5 unique IP addresses.>

A new WebLogic license needs to be installed on order to fix this problem.

Resolution
  1. Locate on the FIM 3.x distribution CD the following directory: \WLS\license . There should be 2 files in it ( license.bea and weblogic.jar ).
  2. Stop your WL server.
  3. Take a backup copy and replace the license.bea file of your current WL installation. By default this is located in C:\bea .
  4. Take a backup copy and replace the weblogic.jar file. By default this file is located in C:\bea\weblogic81\server\lib.
  5. Restart WebLogic. The licensing issue should not occur again.
