IssueRSA Keon Validation Server does not start
CauseIf the Microsoft Windows service is started while connected over Remote Desktop, the service fails to start
ResolutionWhen trying to start RSA Validation Manager, you must be connected on the console of the computer and must NOT use Remote Desktop (or similar software). When the Microsoft Windows service starts, it will try to generate a dialog box on the console of the system saying Enter SSL Passphrase for VMAdmin Server. This dialog box will not appear on the Remote Desktop connection unless you have connected in console mode.
Ensure that you are connecting using the /console parameter, for example:

    mstsc /v:myserver.dept.mycompany.com  /console

For details about starting RSA Validation Manager, see pages 21-22 of the Administration Guide. It may also prove useful to review details on page 24 which describe how to do an unattended startup avoiding entering a passphrase in a dialog box all together.
