IssueError: "ACE/Server (14001) authentication sqlmessage sv5c0e8d.r database sdserv not connected (1006)" appears in syslog frequently, typically many times in a day
Authentication seems unaffected by the problem
RSA ACE/Server stopped and restarted previously
CauseMessages of this format indicate the ACE/Server did not shut down correctly previously; some processes from the prior instance are still present, causing the error message to occur. The format will be the same but the affected module ('sdserv' in this case) may change.
ResolutionTo correct this issue, stop the ACE/Server and clean any lock files with the following commands in this order:

- aceserver stop
- sdconnect shutdown
- sdconnect clean

Then, run the following command:

ps -ef | grep ace

This will enable you to identify any ACE/Server processes still running after shutting down the ACE/Server. These processes are causing the error to occur in the syslog. Delete these processes (with kill first, and kill -9 if necessary) and start the ACE/Server as follows:

- sdconnect start
- aceserver start
