Issue | One of the following errors are seen: Error: "Access Denied, Syntax Error" when authenticating with Oracle SQL RADIUS client using Advanced Security Option and shared secrets over 16 characters Error: "Access Denied, Syntax Error" Shared secret / encryption key is longer than 16 characters as documented in the Partner Advanced Security Option Implementation Guide |
Cause | The Oracle application is actually truncating the shared secret without error and sending only the first 16 characters to RSA Authentication Manager. |
Resolution | To correct this issue, shorten the shared secret and encryption key to 16 characters or fewer. |
