Article Number000013805
Applies ToRSA Federated Identity Manger (FIM) 4.1
IssueFIM does not process attributes that contain a CDATA element.
FIM logs the following message in the debug.log when trying to set the attribute
2011-09-30 11:45:34,328, (AttributeValue.java:173), Rejecting an AttributeValue without a simple, non-empty text node
CauseFIM does not identify the CDATA tag when parsing the attribute.
ResolutionThis has been resolved in hotfix HF_39 for FIM 4.1 for SAML 2.0 and in hotfix HF_40 for FIM 4.1 for SAML 1.1. Contact RSA Customer Support and request FIM 4.1 HF_40 or the latest cumulative hotfix.
WorkaroundThe attribute that is being passed to FIM has a CDATA element in it:
<saml:AttributeValue xsi:type="xs:string">
<![CDATA[<XMLData><UserData>
</UserData>
</XMLData>]]></saml:AttributeValue>
</saml:Attribute>
