Issue

Event Explorer Error: Could not connect to the App Server service on

"machine-type.1.2.3.4" Please be sure that the App Server service is running properly.


ERROR [org.jboss.remoting.transport.socket.SocketServerInvoker] Error starting ServerSocket. Bind port: 3873, bind address: /1.2.3.4

CauseAt some point the IP address of the Application Server (or single machine) had changed
ResolutionThe enVision Application Server needs to be reinstalled as below. Note that no services need to be stopped or ever restarted.
open command prompt on the App Server:

cd /d %_envision%\bin

appserver_uninstall.bat

Check the nie-oe.dat file, in the system32/drivers/etc directory, modify IP to correct one if required (IPADDRESS= is the line you want)

Then back in the command prompt

appserver_install.bat new_ipaddress
