IssueError: "Unsafe Removal of Device" when unplugging RSA SecurID SID800 Authenticator (USB token) on Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP4
ResolutionThis is a known limitation of Microsoft Windows 2000 that does not handle USB properly. If something is being written to the RSA SecurID SID800 Authenticator (USB token), a dialog box will appear stating this. When you see this window, do not disconnect the device; once the dialog box goes away, wait 5 seconds, then you can remove safely the device.

At any time except described above, you can remove your USB token without ejecting it.
