RSA ClearTrust Agent 4.5 for Microsoft IIS
IssueHang in winsock call select() in RSA ClearTrust Agent 4.5 for Microsoft IIS during startup while network is down
During the startup sequence, if RSA ClearTrust Agent is unable to establish a network connection to Microsoft IIS, IIS becomes unresponsive to all requests. The web browser will time out rather than getting the expected error page when attempting to access a protected resource.
CauseTwo conditions that cause this are as follows:

- The Microsoft IIS 6.0 server has crashed

- The network connection between the RSA ClearTrust Agent and the ClearTrust server machine is down as the IIS server auto-restarts and reloads the Agent

The Agent may hang while attempting to reestablish the connection with the unavailable ClearTrust server machine.
ResolutionThis issue has been resolved in a hot fix for RSA ClearTrust Agent 4.5 for Microsoft IIS. Contact RSA Security Customer Support to obtain hot fix 4.5.0.34, or request the latest fix level (which is cumulative, and contains fixes from previous fix levels).

This hot fix allows RSA ClearTrust Agent to successfully restart, and requests to the IIS 6.0 server will display the error page for as long as the network connection is down.
