Applies ToRSA SecurID Web Express
Userid and password for SQL access to the databases are entered in the config.properties file of the RSA SecurID Web Express application. This along with the Web Express admin userid and password are used to create the security block in that file, a.k.a. the node secret in this instance. After the first initialization of the application, these userids and passwords are encrypted in that file and an encrypted security block is created using those values.
For detailed information on configuration, see Configuring MicroSoft SQL Server version 7.0 for use with Web Express 1.0 as the database server.
IssueHow to configure RSA SecurID Web Express to work with SQL server that requires userid and password authentication to access databases, when passing these through the Web Express config file
Error: "Node verification failed" appears in ACE/Server log during initialization of RSA SecurID Web Express. This occurs on subsequent initializations, but not the first time after entering userid and password into the file as clear text.
The node verification failure would be reported on subsequent authentications unless each time the encrypted WE admin and Database userid's and passwords were deleted along with the security block. Upon entering these in clear text once again a new encrypted security block is created, using these values, enabling a successful authentication.
CauseThe code does not properly parse the userid and password of the database connection once encrypted and security block is considered invalid.
ResolutionA hot fix exists for this issue and can be obtained by contacting RSA Security Customer Support.
