IssueHow to close socket connections between ASP clients and the J-Integra DCOM bridge
Repeatedly accessing an ASP page that connects to ClearTrust APIs via the J-Integra DCOM bridge can cause the number of socket connections to the DCOM bridge to continually rise. This can ultimately cause the DCOM bridge platform to become unresponsive to any network communications.
CauseASP clients do not correctly disconnect from the DCOM bridge as a normal COM client would
Resolution

Reference J-Integra KB article 30416:

When running the JVM, specify the property JINTEGRA_INCOMING_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT=xxx, where xxx is an integer value in milliseconds. This causes any incoming connections which have not been used for xxx amount of time to disconnect, thus removing the object exporter threads and keeping them from building up.

The usage (for a five second timeout) is as follows:

java -DJINTEGRA_INCOMING_CONNECTION_TIMEOUT=5000 MyJvm

For the Cleartrust/J-Integra environment, this additional parameter should be placed in the runvm.bat file.
