IssueHow to connect RSA ClearTrust to Oracle OCI8 (thick) client
Typical errors seen in the eserver.log:

1. SQL Error : Invalid Oracle URL specified Code: (17067) State: (null)], Details =
sirrus.da.exception.DataStoreException: An error occurred in connecting to the CT database server

2. (SQLConnectionManager.java:128) : sirrus.da.exception.DataStoreException: no ocijdbc8 in java.library.path
CauseBy default, the ClearTrust installation uses the jdbc20 (thin) driver to connect to the Oracle datastore. One of the main reasons why people opt to use the OCI8 (thick) client instead is so database failover in ClearTrust can be made possible, according to the InstallConfig.pdf guide. However, the setup of this is not documented, thus people may use a similar jdbc_url as they have it for the thin driver, without success.
ResolutionTo correct this issue, the following environment variables must be set:

export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.7
export CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib

Also, the jdbc_url construct in the sql.conf format should be as follows:

cleartrust.data.sql.server.oracle.jdbc_url : jdbc:oracle:OCI8@<database name>
