|Applies To||RSA Key Manager Server 2.0.x|
Apache Tomcat 5.5.x
Apache Tomcat 4.1
|Issue||How to upgrade Key Manager Server 2.0.x to a higher 2.0.x version on Tomcat?|
|Resolution||To upgrade RSA Key Manager Server 2.0.x to 2.0.4 on Tomcat, follow these steps:|
Below, TOMCAT refers to Tomcat's installation folder, example C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\apache-tomcat-5.5.25\
Create a backup folder: C:\RKM\backup\2.0.2\
Move the folder TOMCAT\webapps\KMS to C:\RKM\backup\2.0.2\
Move the file TOMCAT\webapps\KMS.war to C:\RKM\backup\2.0.2\
Download RSA Key Manager Server 2.0.4. If you do not have access, contact RSA Customer Support so that a download be set.
Follow the instruction to unpack (decrypt) the file using the information provided in the email you received when the download was approved.
Find the file KMS.tar, unzip it using WinZip.
Locate the file KMS.war in the extracted file.
Copy the file KMS.war in TOMCAT\webapps\
Delete Tomcat's cache:
- On Tomcat 4.1: Delete the folder TOMCAT\work\Standalone\localhost\KMS
- On Tomcat 5.5.x: Delete the folder TOMCAT\work\Catalina\localhost\KMS
Wait 2 minutes, the time for Tomcat to deploy the application. You should see a new KMS folder being created in TOMCAT\webapps.
Access https://YourServer/KMS/, authenticate to make sure you get to the startup page. Do to enter the Master password.
If it does not exists, create the folder TOMCAT\webapps\KMS\WEB-INF\classes
Copy the file C:\RKM\backup\2.0.2\KMS\WEB-INF\classes\log4j.properties to TOMCAT\webapps\KMS\WEB-INF\classes.
If the file above did not exist, now is the time to setup KMS logging. From the extracted KMS.tar, locate the file log4j.properties. Edit it to log to your preferred location, save the file and copy it back to TOMCAT\webapps\KMS\WEB-INF\classes.
Access https://YourServer/KMS/ and enter your Master password.
Those steps are valid for the following upgrades:
- 2.0.x to 2.0.4
- 2.1.1 to 2.1.2.x
- 2.1.3 to 2.2.1
- 2.2 to 2.2.1
