IssueHow to enable trace logging in Keon Certificate Authority
ResolutionTo enable trace logging in a KCA environment, modify the xudad.conf file (default location in C:\Program Files\RSA Security\RSA_KeonCA\Xudad\conf) and enable the lines:

#TraceFile trace.log

#TraceDetail all high

in the section below:

##############################################################################

# Tracing configuration

##############################################################################

#

# To specify a log file, enter an absolute path of the file (including the

# filename) or a path relative to Xudad/bin directory. The following example

# shows the default filename trace.log (i.e. the name used when TraceFile is

# not specified) created under Xudad/bin directory.

#TraceFile trace.log

#

# Note that all trace detail levels can be of: high | low | off

#

# To set the base trace detail level for all components (to high),

# uncomment the following line:

#TraceDetail all high

#

# To specify (or override) trace detail levels for individual components,

# uncomment appropriate lines (and optionally change the detail level):

#TraceDetail asn1 high

#TraceDetail crypto high

#TraceDetail db high

#TraceDetail ldap high

#TraceDetail signing high

##############################################################################

This creates a trace.log file in the Xudad/bin directory

NOTE: "TraceFile trace.log" - creates a trace.log file in the Xudad/bin directory and "TraceDetail all high" set the base trace detail level for all components. Please, refer to page 381 in the KCA Administrator's Guide for information pertaining to the configuration file modifications to generate trace log files.
