IssueHow to debug Microsoft Windows Services startup for use with RSA ClearTrust
Error: "The RSAaserver service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 0 milliseconds: No action." in RSA ClearTrust; the  RSAaserver service hung on startup
CauseIn some instances, an interaction with the operating system may mean that the RSA ClearTrust services fail to start (RSAaserver, RSAdispatch & RSAeserver). On these occasions, it is useful to debug what has occurred to help resolve the issue.
Resolution

To correct this issue, ensure that the correct setup steps were taken. For more information, see page 89 of the RSA ClearTrust 5.5.3 Servers Installation and Configuration Guide in the section "Starting the Servers as Windows Services", which is also described in the following solution:

Error: 'Could not start the RSAdispatch service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion' when starting ClearTrust server through Windows Services Panel Error: "Could not start the RSAdispatch service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" when starting ClearTrust server through Windows Services Panel

In instances where the problem still occurs, you can monitor debug output from the services startup. This can be done by using any tool which displays standard Win32 debug output. RSA ClearTrust Agents for Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and Domino come with \utils\DBWIN32.EXE which can be copied over to the ClearTrust server. As an alternative, use the Debug View at http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/DebugView.html.

In either instance, simply run the utility to display the debug window then attempt to start the service from the Windows services control panel. NOTE: This will only display the debug of the startup process of the ClearTrust servers, and does not debug the ClearTrust services once they have been started.
