IssueIssue with Keon Web PassPort password using a British pound character ?
When a user tries to log into Keon Web PassPort, the user is sent to the invalid username or password page. The user was able to fix this issue by changing their password. The character that caused the issue was the British pound symbol ?.
LDAP authentication fails if the password contains special or foreign language characters
If a user's LDAP password contains UTF-8 encoded characters (e.g. British pound symbol ?), password authentication fails and the user is prompted to enter a correct password
CauseKeon Web PassPort was interpreting UTF-8 input as simply raw byte strings with no encoding, e.g. a correctly coded representation of the British pound symbol ? (0x00A3) was being misrepresented as its unencoded equivalent (0xC2A3)
ResolutionThis issue has been corrected in a hot fix for Keon Web PassPort 1.1.2. Contact RSA Security Customer Support and request Keon Web PassPort 1.1.2 build 14. In this build, Keon Web PassPort accepts any password that is valid for Microsoft Active Directory logon.
