This topic provides instructions on how to configure Archiver to store the collected data in DACs. You can set up a number of DACs with the type of hash algorithm and compression that needs to be performed on the stored data.

Prerequisites

Ensure that you have:

  1. Installed the Security Analytics Archiver host in your network environment.
  2. Installed and configured Log Decoder in your network environment.
  3. Added Archiver as a core service to your Security Analytics deployment.
  4. Applied license to the Archiver service.
  5. Added Log Decoder services as a data source for Archiver.
  6. Installed and configured DAC in your network environment.

Procedure

To configure storage for Archiver:

  1. In the Security Analytics menu, select Administration > Services.
  2. Select the Archiver service.
  3. In the Actions column, click View > Config.
The Service Config view of Archiver is displayed.
  4. In the Storage tab, perform the following:

Note: If you want to configure alert mechanisms related to the Archiver storage, click To configure the alert mechanisms related to the Archiver storage navigate here. For more information, see Step 5: Configure Archiver Monitoring.

    1. In the Number Of Mounts field, type the number of DACs mounted to Archiver host.

Note: This field is not available if tiered storage is configured for the Archiver.

  1. In the Hash Algorithm drop-down menu, select one of the following supported hash algorithms:
    • none - If you do not want to use hash algorithm
    • sha256
    • sha1
    • md5
  2. In the Meta Compression drop-down menu, select one of the following:
    • none - if you do not want to use any compression mechanism.
    • gzip - if you want to compress the meta in gzip format.
  3. In the RAW Data Compression drop-down menu, select one of the following:
    • none - if you do not want to use any compression mechanism.
    • gzip - if you want to compress the raw data in gzip format.
  4. Click Apply.
