This topic introduces the options in Hosts panel toolbar for discovering, adding, editing, removing, and repurposing hosts. 

The Hosts panel toolbar has options for discovering, adding, editing, removing, and repurposing hosts.  

To access the Hosts view, in the Security Analytics menu, select Administration > Hosts.  The Hosts panel toolbar is at the top of the Hosts grid in the Hosts view.

Features

The following table describes the features of the Hosts panel toolbar.

IconAddDevice.pngAdds a host to RSA Security Analytics to manage (see Step 1: Add or Update a Host). Opens the Add Host dialog. See below for more information.

Displays the following options:
  • Remove Host: Removes a host that is no longer needed from the Security Analytics user interface along with its associated services. If you select this option, you can no longer view the host and its associated services from within Security Analytics.
  • Remove From Group: If the host is part of a host group, you can remove the host from the group.
  • Remove and Repurpose Host: This option is only available on the Primary Security Analytics server of the host. Use this option when you want to completely rebuild a host.

Displays options for checking and updating the software version of an application (see Host Updates Menu).

104ApplDisc.pngMost of the time, the Discover function completes automatically and it is not necessary to click the Discover button. For a new installation, you click the Discover button to access the Provision dialog box to go through the provisioning process. After the provisioning phase, the discovery of services running on the host happens automatically and it is not necessary to click this button.

Add Host Dialog

The Add Host dialog is very similar to the Edit Host dialog. For related procedures, see Step 1: Add or Update a Host and Change the Name and Hostname of a Host.
