Reporting: Create an Alert Using a Rule

The topic provides instructions to create an alert using a rule. You cannot create an alert using IPDB and Warehouse rules.

Prerequisites

Make sure that you:

  • Understand the Rule view components. For more information, see Rule View.
  • Understand the Build Rule view components. For more information, see Build Rule View.

Perform the following steps to create an alert using a rule:

  1. In the Security Analytics menu, click Dashboard > Reports.
    The Manage tab is displayed.
  2.  Do one of the following:
    • You can create an alert using a rule when you create or edit the rule. For more information, see Define a Rule and Edit a Rule.
      Follow the below steps:
      1. In the Build Rule view, click Use.
        The Use Rule dialog is displayed.
      2. Click Alert.
      3. Click Select.
    • Select a rule in the Rule List panel and click  in the Rule toolbar. From the drop-down menu, select Use > Alert.
    • Hover the mouse over a rule in the Rule List panel and click  > Create Alert.
