|Applies To||RSA Product Set: ECAT|
RSA Version/Condition: 4.1.x, 4.1.2,4.2
O/S Version: Server 2012 R2
|Issue||During a new installation or attempting to reinstall the ECAT service, the database gives error messages similar to the following:|
>An exception occurred while executing a Transact_SQL statement or batch.
|Cause||This is caused by a setting in the SQL database to send notifications via email but without configuring this properly.|
|Resolution||Have the customer contact their DBA to remove triggers in SQL database settings to send notification emails when a database is added/removed from the system. This is a reporting mechanism, and causes the ECAT installer to send errors when attempting to replace, create, or remove an existing database.|
Note: You may see a database created during this process but the installer never complete and the tables not properly formatted. It is recommended to clear the error first, then delete the existing database if a new one is created.
|Workaround||There is no way to workaround this issue until the error is resolved.|
