Issue
  • How to change On-Demand Tokencode length from command line interface on RSA Authentication Manager 8.1
Resolution
  1. SSH to server using rsaadmin account.
  2. Navigate to utils:
    cd /opt/rsa/am/utils

  3. Type the following command and when prompted, enter the OC Administrator username and password:
    ./rsautil store -a add_config auth_manager.oda.token_code_length 6 global 503

  4. Navigate to server.
    cd ../server

  5. Restart all services.
    ./rsaserv restart all

NotesThe length can be specified as any integer value but only 6 and 8 are going to be considered. All others are going to be ignored and AM will default to 8. This update should be applied on AM 8.1 SP1 P13 or later. If you did the above before P13 the config value won’t take place, as there is new logic that we put in place which is part of P13 (or later) and is doing the actual work based on the config value.
