IssueHaving inconsistencies with the way record links are generating. Below is an example of two email record links created by the same individual. The recipient of the email cannot open the first link, however the second link works fine. The recipient has unrestricted access to the application records. The record ID within the application is the Key field, and that ID number appears within the Subject line and it worked fine for both email links generated.

http://Company/Instance/default.aspx?requestUrl=../GenericContent/Record.aspx?id=xxxxxx&moduleId=xxx (user can not open)

http://Company/Instance/default.aspx?requestUrl=..%2fGenericContent%2fRecord.aspx%3fid%3dxxxxxx%26moduleId%3dxxx (Opens fine)

Cause

Applies to using a mobile device ie: Apple Ipad with native Ipad safari Browser.  When clicking the email button in the application the encoding does not propagate the URL correctly causing the generated link to not function.
URL Examples: For company security I have altered the URL to reflect a generic company and instance along with "xxxxxxx" for record information.  All other information is correct for the URL.

http://Company/Instance/default.aspx?requestUrl=../GenericContent/Record.aspx?id=xxxxxx&moduleId=xxx (user can not open)

http://Company/Instance/default.aspx?requestUrl=..%2fGenericContent%2fRecord.aspx%3fid%3dxxxxxx%26moduleId%3dxxx (Opens fine)

ResolutionAdvised the customer the mobile device using the native web browser on the apple device was not supported.  Arranged to have the Account Manager speak with the customer to discuss the Apple Mobile Application to see if it would help them with the Apple Ipad's.
WorkaroundI suggested if a mobile device would be needed then selecting a Windows based device would be a good solution.
