|Applies To||RSA Product Set: Archer|
RSA Version/Condition: 5.x
|Issue||When attempting to copy text from a word processor (Microsoft Word for example) and then attempt to paste the content into a Text Area field, there are no spaces between the words and other formatting may appear different.|
|Cause||RSA Archer uses a Rich Text Editor control that is not as robust as a full word processor application. So many of the formatting options are not available or compatible with the Rich Text Editor tool. A lot of the formatting will be lost when it is converted to HTML.|
Here is an example of what it should look like from the source:
A Business Continuity Plan (BCP) defines the resources, actions, tasks and data required to manage a recovery process in the event of a business disruption. Business continuity planning is a process of developing advance arrangements and procedures that enable an organization to respond to an event that lasts for an unacceptable period-of-time.
Here is an example of what happens with the Rich Text Editor control in RSA Archer 5.x:
A BusinessContinuity Plan (BCP)defines the resources,actions,tasksanddatarequiredtomanagearecoveryprocessintheeventofabusinessdisruption.Businesscontinuityplanningisaprocessofdevelopingadvancearrangementsandproceduresthatenableanorganizationtorespondtoaneventthatlastsforanunacceptableperiod-of-time."
Notice the lack of formatting (spacing) in the above example.
|Workaround||Rich Text Editor Control was replaced for RSA Archer 6.x and newer. It is much more robust and handles copy/paste actions better than the 5.x version.|
