IssueThe RSA Identity Management and Governance Appliance Updater, rsaimg_updater_2016Q2_SLES11_ 12C.tar.bz2 fails.
The last line in the  /var/log/rsaimg_updater.log file shows the following error:

Database Patching Failed ... cancelling further patching

The log file also contains the following error message:

System Configuration Collection failed: oracle.osysmodel.driver.sdk.productdriver.ProductDriverException:
Unknown host name in config:IMG7.LOCAL

CauseThis issue occurs due to a fault in the Oracle patch that prevents the patch from correctly identifying the hostname of the appliance when the hostname is in upper or mixed case.
ResolutionThis issue is resolved in the Oracle updater included in the RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle image updater from 2016 Q3 or later  (i. e., rsaimg_updater_2016Q3_SLES11_ 12C.tar.bz2 or later)
WorkaroundAs a work around, rename the hostname of the machine to use lower case with the Unix hostname command.  For example, if your hostname is IMG7.local use the following command from the Unix command prompt.
hostname img7.local
