Issue | As per the Alpha-2 ISO 3166-1 format (which is a two character country code), we can find country codes and use them in Rules. Is there a way we can configure rules based on specific region inside any country without affecting the transactions from entire country? |
Resolution | We know that we can configure rules based on Country codes to allow/challenge/deny the transactions for a specific country, however there is also a possibility to configure rules based on the region of a particular country, with the use of fact "Region Code from GeoIP". Since Region codes are not unique if not mapped to the corresponding country codes, they could be used in rules along with the country codes to be effective. For instance, if we need a rule specific to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, we should configure the expressions similar to the one shown below screenshot: ![]() Note: Region code 21 for country code BR (Brazil) belongs to Rio de Janeiro References : The country codes (ISO3166) could be found at the below URL : http://dev.maxmind.com/static/csv/codes/iso3166.csv And the corresponding region codes could be found at the following URL : http://www.maxmind.com/download/geoip/misc/region_codes.csv |
