|Applies To||RSA Product Set: NetWitness Endpoint|
RSA Version/Condition: 4.4.x
|Issue||How to re-display the RSA NetWitness Endpoint Computer ID (CID)?|
|Resolution||During the initial install of the RSA NetWitness Endpoint software, when the RSA NetWitness Endpoint license file is not provided, the unique RSA NetWitness Endpoint ComputerID (CID) value is displayed.|
Sometimes during an issue with the license file, or when the number of host machines needs to be changed in the license file, a re-display of the CID value is wanted.
If the RSA ECAT Server service is running on the Primary Endpoint Server.
Run, the NetWitness Endpoint UI, ECATUI.exe program.
Look for the LicenseComputerID value which will show the unique CID, 30 alphanumeric string ending with "=" (all alpha characters are case-sensitive).
If you are unable to start the RSA Endpoint Server service.
From a command prompt, on the Primary ECAT Server, change to the Endpoint Server directory.
Default directory: C:\Program Files\RSA\ECAT\Server\ or C:\Program Files\RSA\Endpoint\Server\
Run the command,
Click “I Agree” at the License Agreement screen, and then the ComputerID will be displayed.
You can copy and paste the ComputerID value displayed.
Click Exit to exit the program.
This has no effect on any existing license file or running services, it only displays the CID value.
