To our Partners and Customers,

RSA has consolidated documentation, training, knowledgebase articles, and blogs for all RSA products in a single location, and all of the content from sadocs.emc.com is now available in RSA Link.

RSA has not been updating content in sadocs.emc.com, and later this month RSA will redirect all visitors to RSA Link. Please bookmark this page and look for the latest content here: RSA NetWitness Suite Versions.

As usual, you can contact the Information Design and Development team who authored the documentation at sahelpfeedback@emc.com. We will be happy to help you.

How to Navigate to Documentation in RSA Link

  1. Open this URL in your browser: https://community.rsa.com/docs/DOC-40370.
The Versions page opens. The versions page is a list of Security Analytics (NetWitness) versions with links to documentation and other resources such as downloads.
  2. Find the version or service pack and click Documentation.
The Documentation page for the selected version opens to the English language documents.
  3. (Optional) If you are looking for a different language, select a language.
  4. Click RSA Security Analytics 10.x.x Table of Contents.
The master table of contents, a list with links to all documents on the page, opens. This is an example of a master table of contents for Security Analytics Version 10.6.2: https://community.rsa.com/docs/DOC-63208.
  5. Find the document you want to read, and click HTML or PDF. Versions 10.5 and 10.6 are available in PDF and HTML form. Older versions are available as PDF only.
If the document is an HTML document the HTML contents opens with a list of HTML topics. If the document is a PDF document, the PDF is rendered in the browser. You can view the PDF or download it.

How to Search for Specific Information

When using the search function in RSA Link, you can improve relevance of results by using the search filters.

  3. In the Search field, type a term or phrase, and click Search. For example, search for the following term: parsers.
  4. In the results page, look at the filters on the left side of the page. For a simple search of the documentation, ensure that only Content is selected in the Search for filter. Filtering on People or Places, may limit the results in an unexpected way for a simple search.

  5. Use the Last modified time filter to get all content or only content that has been added or modified recently. Select one of these: All time, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, 1 year.
  6. Choose a sort option: Relevance (to your query) or the Last modified date.
    The results are sorted accordingly.
  7. Restrict result to the current space, or version, in the Restrict results by Place… To see results for 10.6.2, type 10. and a list of places is displayed. Choose a version.

  8. You can leave the Subspace depth filter blank. If you decided to choose a subspace depth, the best options for a search in a single version are No subspaces or All subspaces. The Child subspaces contain translated documents and downloads, if available.

  9. In the Show filter choose Documents and uncheck everything such as Discussions, Polls, and others, that you do not want to see in the results.
  10. In the Content marked as filter, select All Content. This is the most useful option because the Official and Outdated tags are not currently being used, so you may unwittingly hide content that you want to see.
