An operating system account password is required to access the operating system directly or through secure shell (SSH). You must access the operating system to perform maintenance or troubleshooting tasks.

Note:  In a replicated deployment, each instance has a separate operating system account password. Repeat this procedure as needed.

  1. In the Operations Console, click Administration >Operating System Access.

  2. Complete the password entry fields, and click Save.
