IssueAn RSA Adaptive Authentication (On-Premise) customer wants to know if there is any way or option to check if the new servers that they have installed are up and working correctly.
ResolutionThe section entitled "Verify RSA Adaptive Authentication (On-Premise) is In Operation" in the RSA Adaptive Authentication (On-Premise) Operations Guide provides the following Query SOAP call:
<soapenv:Envelope
xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<soapenv:Body>
<ws:query xmlns:ws="http://ws.csd.rsa.com">
<ws:request>
<ws:identificationData>
<ws:userName>test</ws:userName>
<ws:userStatus>UNVERIFIED</ws:userStatus>
<ws:userType>NONPERSISTENT</ws:userType>
</ws:identificationData>
<ws:messageHeader>
<ws:apiType>DIRECT_SOAP_API</ws:apiType>
<ws:requestType>QUERY</ws:requestType>
<ws:version>7.1</ws:version>
</ws:messageHeader>
<ws:securityHeader>
<ws:callerCredential>………..</ws:callerCredential>
<ws:callerId>………..</ws:callerId>
<ws:method>PASSWORD</ws:method>
</ws:securityHeader>
</ws:request>
</ws:query>
</soapenv:Body>
</soapenv:Envelope>

This request, and the successful response, verify several things:
  • The web server hosting Adaptive Authentication is up and operational
  • The web service credentials are correct
  • The server hosting the database is reachable
  • A piece of a typical workflow is running correctly.
See the RSA Adaptive Authentication (On-Premise) Operations Guide for more details.
