IssueAfter installing the Q3 Oracle updater (2016), review creation fails with the following error:

ERROR:-20126:The creation of reviews failed.
ORA-01792: maximum number of columns in a table or view is 1000

This message will be found on the screen and in the /home/oracle/wildfly-8.2.0.Final/standalone/log/aveksaServer.log.
CauseWe uninstall Oracle patch 19509982, which prevents the ORA-01792 error (maximum number of columns in a table or view is 1000) and fail to reinstall it.
ResolutionYou can manually reapply Oracle patch for 19509982.  The patch is actually laid out on the system in /home/oracle/CPU, where we put some of the Q3 updater files.

CPU stands for Critical Patch Update, and is Oracle's way to deliver critical patches on a regular basis. These patches are included in and delivered through the RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle Quarterly Updater.

  1. Make sure that you have a backup of the inventory whose location can be found in /etc/oraInst.loc. This should be done right after the running acm stoporacle.  For example,

    zip -r inventorybackup.zip  /u01/app/12.1.0/grid/oraInventory

  2. Run the following as the installation owner, usually the Linux oracle account:

acm stop
acm stoporacle
cd /home/oracle/CPU/19509982
opatch apply

  1. Verify whether the patch has been successfully installed by running the following command:

opatch lsinventory

  1. If the patch does not show as installed, or you see an error, please stop, contact RSA Customer Support and open a support ticket.
  2. If the patch is installed, run the following:

acm startoracle
acm start
