I'm trying to add a new operations console administrator but i'm getting the below error.
"Encrypted data could not be updated". can you advice?
You are seeing that message because you have reached the maximum number of Operations Console administrators allowed for the system. RSA Authentication Manager allows a maximum of 42 Operations Console administrators.
000037090 - Adding an additional Operations Console administrator fails with the error message Encrypted data could not be updated in RSA Authentication Manager 8.x
Please review those users who are listed as Operations Console administrators, removing those admins who no longer administer the deployment.
Thanks for replying. There are only 3 accounts currently configured as Operation Console admins in the RSA authentication manager. So I'm pretty sure, it's still within the limit. Can you advice further?
You can try this on the command line as rsaadmin: If this fails then you should open a support case, as the properties file that it needs to update, may be corrupted somehow, and if further corrupted could 'brick' the system.
edavis-vm150:/opt/rsa/am/utils> ./rsautil manage-oc-administrators
Usage: rsautil manage-oc-administrators -a <action> [-n] [<user name> [<password>]]Options: -h, --help Optional: Display help. -X, --debug Optional: Display debug messages. -v, --version Optional: Display the version and copyright information. -S, --script-mode Optional: Do not prompt for missing arguments, just fail.
-a, --action Required, must be present and one of the following:
create: create a new user. update: update an existing user with a new password. delete: delete an existing user. The last user cannot be deleted. list: display only oc admin users.
-u, --user Required: Super administrator's user name. -p, --password Required: Super administrator's password.
<user name> Required: User name to create, update or delete. <password> Required: Password for user to create or update.
Missing required arguments will be prompted for unless the '-S' option is also specified.
Try it in LIST mode first: I have 7 OC admins
edavis-vm150:/opt/rsa/am/utils> ./rsautil manage-oc-administrators -a listSuper Administrator's name: adminEnter Super Administrator's Password: *********mumblesoc4oc5oc6oc7ocadminocadmin2DONE
Tried and got the below error. Shall i open a case now?
server:/opt/rsa/am/utils # ./rsautil manage-oc-administratorsError: Cannot run as user 'root' 'rsautil' can only be run by 'rsaadmin' userserver/opt/rsa/am/utils # exitlogoutrsaadmin@server:~> ./rsautil manage-oc-administrators-bash: ./rsautil: No such file or directoryrsaadmin@server~> ./rsautil manage-oc-administrators-bash: ./rsautil: No such file or directory
Hi Kathleen - it's not clear from above where you are on the file system. Make sure you are trying to execute /opt/rsa/am/utils/rsautil as user rsaadmin.
Hope that helps,
yes, i am.
rsaadmin@DCB-RSA-P01:/opt/rsa/am/server> ./rsautil manage-oc-administrators -a listbash: ./rsautil: No such file or directory
Hi Ted and Ed,
I was able to run the command to list down the OC admins and as I previously mentioned, we only have 3 admins.
Is there anything else I need to check?
this has been resolved. thanks for the help!
Hi Kathleen - great to hear, can you share why you were getting the error in your original post?
