Issue
Setpin utility aborts an error message or messages
Error: "Sd_ListUserInfo Token Not Found"
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error Pin is too short"
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error Pin is too long"
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error New Numeric PIN has Alpha Characters"
Error: "Connected User: xyz on Host: abc./Setpin too long"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to read Config file"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to Connect to serv DB /var/ace/data/sdserv"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to Login to DB"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit User xyz is not ACE/Server Administrator"
Error: "missing token serial number"
Error: "Interprocess Communication Failed!"
Error: "Sd_ListUserInfo Token Not Found" when ACE/Server administrator runs Setpin utility on nonexistent token
Error: "Connected User: xyz on Host: abc./Setpin too long" when ACE/Server administrator runs Setpin utility with token serial number longer than 12 digits
When ACE/Server administrator runs Setpin utility and the environment variables are not set correctly, the following error message(s) will return:
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to read Config file"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to Connect to serv DB /var/ace/data/sdserv"
OR
Error: "Interprocess Communication Failed!"
When a user other than the ACE/Server administrator runs the Setpin utility, the following error message(s) will return:
Error: "Sd_ApiInit Failed to Login to DB"
Error: "Sd_ApiInit User xyz is not ACE/Server Administrator"
NOTE: The second error may be caused by not setting the PROPATH environment variable
Error: "Missing token serial number" when ACE/Server administrator erroneously runs Setpin utility without a token serial number
Resolution
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error Pin is too short"
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error Pin is too long"
If alphanumeric characters are being used and are currently not allowed in the ACE/Server system parameters, the following error message returns:
Error: "Sd_Setpin Error New Numeric PIN has Alpha Characters"
- To change the min/max PIN length or to allow alphanumeric PINs on your ACE/Server, follow these instructions:
cd /var/ace/prog
./sdadmin
System
Edit System Parameters
- To set the environment variables properly, review section 1 of the solution regarding How to manually set a token PIN number using RSA ACE/Server Setpin utility
- The proper usage of the Setpin utility can be found in the solution regarding How to manually set a token PIN number using RSA ACE/Server Setpin utility (once the solution is shown, search for ./Setpin in the text of the solution)
