Configure a Web-Tier Self-Service Console Logon Banner on Linux
In a deployment that includes a web tier, an administrator can configure a custom Self-Service Console logon banner on each web-tier server.
If a web tier is not deployed, a Super Admin can configure a Self-Service Console logon banner on each primary and replica instance. For instructions, see Configure a Custom Console Logon Banner.
Before you begin
(Optional) To display a custom logo image on the logon banner, do the following:
Create a GIF file that is less than 5 MB. The image must be no larger than 300 pixels wide by 50 pixels high.
Save the GIF file with the required filename ssc-logo.gif.
Copy the GIF file to a location accessible to the web-tier server.
Procedure
Log on to the web-tier server as root.
Change directories to RSA_WT_HOME/utils/resources/webui/console-banner, where RSA_WT_HOME is the web-tier installation directory. Type:
cd RSA_WT_HOME/utils/resources/webui/console-banner
and press ENTER.
(Optional) To display a custom logo image, do the following:
Copy ssc-logo.gif into the RSA_WT_HOME/utils/resources/webui/console-banner directory. For example, use Secure FTP.
Delete the sample GIF file.Type:
rm ssc-logo-sample.gif
and press ENTER.
Rename the sample message HTML file with the required filename ssc-message.html. Type
mv ssc-message-sample.html ssc-message.html
and press ENTER.
Edit the HTML file. Note the following:
You can format the text with the HTML tags, such as the tags for bold, italics, and font. For example, you can use the <font> tag to specify the font face, size, and color. UTF-8 character encoding is supported.
You can translate your text and add the same statement in more than one language. For example, add the same statement in English and Spanish. For instructions on displaying the localized content in, see Dynamic I18N/L10N Support in RSA Authentication Manager on RSA Link at https://community.rsa.com/community/products/securid.
The HTML file does not link to the optional custom logo image. Only step 3 is required to display a custom logo image.
Repeat this procedure for each web-tier server in your deployment.
After you finish
(Optional) Save copies of the logon banner GIF and HTML files on your network. The backup feature in RSA Authentication Manager does not include the files in the RSA_WT_HOME/utils/resources/webui/console-banner directory.
(Optional) You can also add a custom logo, header text, and footer text to the Self-Service Console web pages and risk-based authentication (RBA) logon pages. For instructions, see Customize Self-Service Console Web Pages.
