Issue
It is possible to use the Dell Service Tag to find the type of PowerEdge hardware in the deployment.
- With physical access to the console, note the Dell Service Tag on the server and use the link above to get the required information.
- If there is no physical access to the appliance, SSH to the appliance.
- If there is physical access to the console, connect a monitor, USB mouse and keyboard to the appliance.
- If using the 2U/A250 version of the RSA SecurID Appliance and the Dell Remote Access Controller (DRAC) has been properly configured, this can also be used to get command-line access.
For the RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 running on a 1U/A130 server
- The PowerEdge R200 cannot be upgraded to Authentication Manager 8.1. Please contact your RSA sales rep to discuss purchasing new hardware or consider deploying Authentication Manager 8.1 as a virtual server.
- The PowerEdge R210 can be upgraded to Authentication Manager 8.1. Documentation for the upgrade can be found in the RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 to 8.1 Migration Guide. The software is available from the RSA Authentication Manager 8.1 download page.
For the RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 running on a 2U/A250 server
- The PowerEdge R2950 cannot be upgraded to Authentication Manager 8.1. Please contact your RSA sales rep to discuss purchasing new hardware or consider deploying Authentication Manager 8.1 as a virtual server.
- The PowerEdge R710 can be upgraded to Authentication Manager 8.1. Documentation for the upgrade can be found in the RSA Authentication Manager 7.1 to 8.1 Migration Guide. The software is available from the RSA Authentication Manager 8.1 download page.

Notes
- The RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 on an A130 server was shipped with 4 GB of RAM. The new A130 server with Authentication Manager 8.1 ships with 8 GB of RAM.
- The RSA SecurID Appliance 3.0 on an A250 server was shipped with 8 GB of RAM, but the 32-bit rPath Linux OS could only access 4 GB of RAM. The Authentication Manager 8.1 upgrade uses 64-bit SUSE Linux and can access all 8 GB. The new A250 server with Authentication Manager 8.1 is shipped with 16 GB of RAM.
- Some of the hardware appliances running Authentication Manager 8.1 are shipped in certain geographical areas with non-Dell-brand hardware. These servers are already running Authentication Manager 8.1 or higher, so upgrading them to Authentication Manager 8.1 is not relevant.
