Issue

After updating to Authentication Manager 8.9 patch 2, the following banner displays in the Security Console stating that Risk Based Authentication is deprecated and to contact the help desk.

Resolution

There is a configuration change to your servers that can be made to suppress the warning message. In order to set that, perform the following actions:

  1. Log into your primary server via SSH.
  2. Enter the following command:
    /opt/rsa/am/utils/rsautil store -a add_config auth_manager.dashboard.hide.rba.banner true GLOBAL BOOLEAN

You will be prompted to enter the Operations Console username and password. Input those when prompted.

  3. After the configuration change is added, restart the services on your primary by executing the following command:
    /opt/rsa/am/server/rsaserv restart all
Restarting services can take several minutes.
  4. While services are restarting, clear the cookies and cache from your web browser.
  5. Once the server's services have restarted and cookies have been cleared, access the Security Console again and the banner should no longer display.

If the issue persists, please contact RSA Customer Support.
