Issue
ERROR [org.jboss.msc.service.fail] (MSC service thread 1-11) MSC000001: Failed to start service jboss.undertow.listener.ajp: org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.undertow.listener.ajp: Could not start http listener
This happens after failing to stop the host controller on the master server of a cluster.
To check for the issue, run the following:
netstat -an | grep <JMS multicast port>As an example from the default configuration:
netstat -an | grep 231You are looking for the JMS multicast port of 231.7.7.7 to see if something is still listening. If the JMS multicast port on your system was changed from the default, please choose the proper address.
Cause
Resolution
- Try to identify and kill the process that is listening on the JMS multicast port and check again to see if the port has been freed up. If it has not been freed, kill the process for the domain controller.
- If the Oracle database is installed on that node, shutdown all other nodes and then shut down Oracle.
- A reboot is now required.
- If the processes are not configured to automatically start, start them up. If Oracle was running on this node, start the other nodes after Oracle is running.
