How to update a Windows Web Express 1.2.1 to the latest patches

Resolution

 

 

1) Stop the Web Express server

 

2) Update the JVM:

-          Download the patch from this URL:

o       http://javashoplm.sun.com/ECom/docs/Welcome.jsp?StoreId=22&PartDetailId=j2re-1.3.1_16-oth-JPR&SiteId=JSC&TransactionId=noreg

o       Download the first choice ?Windows (US English)?

-          Run the patch

-          When prompted for the destination folder, browse to the this directory, assuming that your Web Express is installed in the default location:

o       C:\RSAWebExpress\JRun\jre

-          You do not need to reboot for Web Express, but will have to reboot for the notification service and the browser plugin to work.

-          When finished verify the installation as follows

o       Open a command prompt

o       Cd c:\RSAWebExpress\JRun\jre\bin

o       Java ?version

?         The following version should be displayed:

?        build 1.3.1_16-b06

 

 

3) Update the JRun server

-          Download the patch from this URL:

o       http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19099

o       From the middle of the article download the windows upgrade.

-          Run the patch

-          When prompted for the installation path, browse to the this directory, assuming that your Web Express is installed in the default location:

o       C:\RSAWebExpress\JRun

 

4) Apply the latest Web Express hotfix:

-          Download the Web Express hotfix from this link:

o       ftp://ftp.rsasecurity.com/support/users/mgagne/aB25509_032_ALL.zip

-          Open a file explorer and go to this folder:

o       C:\RSAWebExpress\JRun\servers\default\rsaswe\WEB-INF\lib

-          Rename the following files:

o       ACECommProxy.jar  to  ACECommProxy.jar.old

o       admin.jar  to   admin.jar.old

o       wbur.jar  to  wbur.jar.old

o       wereq.jar  to  wereq.jar.old

o       wrap.jar  to  wrap.jar.old

-          Extract the contents of the downloaded zip file into this folder.

 

5) Restart the Web Express server.

6) Verify the JRun patch installation

-          Start the JRun admin console

-          Login and check the build number on the first page, it should read ?Version 3.1.69820?

 

6) Test the admin and user pages to ensure they are working correctly.
