Issue
UNIX device shows up as unknown, or as an incorrect device
Resolution
The devices involved are aix, hpux, rhlinux, solaris, nokia, and macosx.
The devices can send events that can fall under multiple device categories. If enVision can match two events to only one device type, it will discover that device as that device type. If there is not a match, it will be discovered as unknown.
- Manually change the device type under Overview - System Configuration - Devices - Manage Monitored Devices.
- Device types that are not used can be disabled under Overview - System Configuration - Devices - Manage Device Types. A device type cannot be disabled if that device has a listing under Manage Monitored Devices.
