The ArcherToolBox started as a proof of concept for an Archer Admin Dashboard, but quickly morphed into a bigger project and a learning experience. The project’s goal is to allow an Archer Admin a quick way to monitor the Archer environments, be more proactive than reactive by getting alerted of possible issues, and automate common processes/queries.
The ArcherToolBox consists of:
- ASPX Web Pages call the Web Service Methods, transform the XML data, and display the data in HTML.
- Web Service Methods query server for information using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), execute SQL commands, and automate/simplify other functions.
- XSLT Stylesheets transform the XML data returned from the Web Service Methods into HTML to produce heat maps, tables, and dashboards.
The Web Service Methods are accessible by your own custom applications, preferred programming language, or custom ASPX Web Pages to view the data and take the appropriate action.
Please feel free to add comments with feedback, suggestions, feature requests, defects, documentation issues, etc. and I will try to address them quickly. You can also send messages or emails too. Thanks!
ArcherToolBox v2.4.2 released June 2017.
